Bathrooms and Mold

In order to grow, mold needs moisture and a food source, which is why water damage in a bathroom is the prime environment for mold growth. Bathrooms are prime targets for mold, often due to leaking fixtures or pipes, and a lot of moisture. Mold was discovered behind the sink after a pipe broke and the sink and cabinet were removed. Once the sheet rock was removed, the mold was mitigated and the area was encapsulated with special material to keep mold from returning.
